Celebrated cultural theorist Arjun Appadurai opens day 2 of the forum with his presentation ‘Knowledge for the Not Yet’ on the research imagination (which tries to create new knowledge in the shadow of the old) and the artistic imagination (which tries to give form to the possible forms of emergent life). He will discuss how these share the impulse to identify and image the not yet, the immanent horizon of the future, with reference to the provisional ‘south of theory’. This will be opened up in discussion with artist and researcher Senam Okudzeto, founder of ‘Art in social structures’.
